Prevention is Key is an Independent Dental Hygiene Practice in Coastal Maine that provides a variety of dental hygiene services in a relaxed and caring setting.  We want everyone to have access to dental care and our goal is to provide quality care at a low cost.

An (IPDH) Independent Practice Dental Hygienist is a Registered Dental Hygienist authorized by the State of Maine Dental Board to practice dental hygiene independently from a dentist.  The Maine State Legislature signed into law in 2008 the field of Independent Practice Dental Hygienist to expand access to oral health care into underserved areas of Maine,  broaden dental hygiene services into more areas such as public health, pediatrician offices, hospitals, schools etc., and compensate for the shortage of dentists in the state.

We have the ability to take dental x-rays that will be directly emailed for evaluation by a dentist. 

We can send the x-rays to the dentist of your choice OR if you do not have a dentist we can help you to find one for dental exams and treatment needs.

We truly believe that prevention is the key for full body health.  Through education we can make Maine healthier.  We encourage appointments starting from a child's first tooth and accept patients of all ages.  We accept private pay, most dental insurances, and MaineCare.
